The King Gillette / John F. Kennedy Legend of The Presidential Razor

As the inventor of the modern safety razor, King Gillette's invention actually improved the live's of the men who used them! His razors are classics and have stood the test of time.

The Legend of the JFK Gillette Tech:

In December 1961 the Gillette Company made a special collection of razors for JFK. Only six were ever made, all of which were given to the President. JFK mostly gave them as ghifts to world leaders. There was something special about the Tech that had a unique allure to the young president, who had a very special Aristocrat.

But the Gillette Tech was Inexpensive to make and served in three wars. The Tech was beautiful in its simplicity, yet elegant to behold.

Unlike any Gillette Tech that ever existed before it, the chief metalugest of the Gillette Company had created a new type of plating that was affectionately called "rose gold" named that way because of its pinkish rosey color, but also because it was to be presented to the commender-in-chief to commemorate JFK's first year in office. The presentation was made in the Rose Garden and the name of the metal's color became synonmous with this alloy which comprised 24K gold, silver, and copper.

Unlike Gold, Rose Gold didn't scratch easily. So the razor, sported a rose gold head and an 18k gold plated ball-end handle. Gillette never used rose gold to plate any other razors making the actual JFK Tech a very rare item indeed. Legend has it that this was intentional.

REPLITECH is an EXACT duplicate of an end of year 1965 British Tech. However because it has a handle made out of stainless steel it should not crack like the original. The actual JFK Tech was of course made with the older-style head than Replitech, but we certainly captured the spirit of that very razor!

Construction: Handle - 100% stainless steel that is weighted to the exact specifications of the original 1965 Tech.

Electroplated with rose gold (head) & 18K gold over stainless steel (handle.)

Weight and handle length: 2.05 ounces, 3.25 inches.

Type: 3-piece double edge safety razor.

Aggressiveness: (1 - 5) 2.75 with excellent efficiency! (For reference, we consider a Merkur 34C or EJ DE89 2.5 / 5)

Warranty: Lifetime warranty covers this product against defects in materials or workmanship. This warranty is extended to the original owner only and excludes normal use and wear or misuse.
